Map of Washington's named places
The 177 named places this site covers in Washington are plotted below by kind, from the coordinate the federal names register publishes for each one. 9 kinds have enough places to be worth a map of their own, covering 159 of them; the rest are listed on their own pages.
The figures, 2026
Each dot is a published coordinate, and each is a link to that place. The maps are schematic: they carry no coastline, no relief and no roads, because this site holds none of those. They show where things are relative to each other, and nothing else.

Questions
Where are Washington's waterfalls?
32 named falls in Washington are covered here, plotted on this page and listed in full on the falls page. They are spread across 11 counties.
Is this a topographic map?
No. It plots published coordinates onto the bounding box of the places shown, with a correction so longitude is not stretched at these latitudes. There is no terrain, no water outline and no road network, and it should not be used for navigation.
Why do some kinds of place have no map here?
A map of fewer than 6 points is a dot rather than a map. Kinds below that threshold are covered on their own pages instead, where the list does the work the map cannot.
Method and sources
Every figure on this page is computed over the named places this site covers, from the federal records cited below. Coordinates are the primary point GNIS publishes for each named feature, taken as published. The projection is equirectangular with a cosine correction at the mid-latitude of the points shown, which is accurate enough for relative position over a single state and is not accurate enough for anything else. No figure is imputed, and where a count excludes places the number excluded is on the page.
